organized living.

We have been in our townhouse for a little over a year now and I am definitely getting home decorating fever. We still have many bare walls, rooms that we aren't utilizing the space to full capacity and my home to-do list seems to be getting longer and longer.

Being renters can make it difficult to motivate yourself to make many changes, put holes in the walls, or buy furniture to fit your current home because one. you just never know how long you will be there and two. since it isn't yours you don't want to invest too much on things that you won't be able to take with you when you do end up moving. But I am a firm believer that it doesn't matter if you rent or own that you can still make your house {apartment, condo, townhouse} into your home. Your personality and style can be shown through your decor and you can make low-cost updates such as painting or changing a light fixture to make a room more comfortable.

With all that said, I'm anxious to push forward with a few home projects. These last few weeks have been interesting as our little mister Jack has turned into all boy. And when I say that I mean he gets into everything. It's amazing what these little ones can find and how they don't forget where that one vase is that you don't want them to keep touching. So not only am I diving head first into project "home" but also project "baby-proof". In the interim I've started moving every knickknack out of reach, but it's making me sad to have such bare looking rooms. I feel like there must be some kind of compromise with these kiddos where you can have a nice, comfortable room and you don't have to jump up every time your little one heads towards the shelves. If anyone has any advice on how to accomplish this please do share!!

Now begins my mission to organized living. I will go through our house room by room decluttering, baby-proofing, organizing, and decorating in a way that is suitable for the entire family. This will be quite the project so I am going to start small with our front entryway. Equally as important as all of the other rooms as it sets the tone for your home as the first welcoming sight when you open the door.

Here a few inspiring entryways I found.

  1. Ooo I just love those entryways! I do love hooks and/or tables - they're so convenient.
But wow, amazing task you're taking on, and I can't wait to see the progress. You are so creative!
