diy: picture frame.

I'll be honest with you and admit that I am not the most crafty person out there. I love the idea of being crafty, I admire those of you that are crafty, and I long to be one of you. That being said, you can imagine the surprise on my hubby's face when I told him that I intended on making my own frame for a chart that we brought home from our honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands. After we found out how much this $10 chart that we found rolled up in the corner of the gift store would cost to frame, I decided to start looking into do-it-yourself framing projects.

I thought this would be a popular diy project, only to find out that it was more difficult than expected to find exactly what I was looking for. After hours of searching and dead ends, I finally came across the perfect blog post on Bungalow Blue Interiors with step-by-step instructions on how to make my own picture frame. It just so happened that she was framing 2 charts as well, which made it that much more of a diy match.

After several trips to Home Depot, one meltdown in the molding aisle, tutorials from hubby on sawing, and too much super glue I am happy to say that I made my very own frame - from start to finish. It may not be perfect {don't look too closely}, but it was a proud moment when I held up my finished product to show my hubby.  So thank you, Kelly of Bungalow Blue Interiors, I am eternally grateful for your craftiness and for sharing it with me so I could pretend to be crafty too - even if for just a few days.
