sweet moments.

Hello lovelies. I haven't been particularly good at posting lately and I do apologize for that. It has been quite a whirlwind over the last couple of weeks. In fact, I am in complete shock that we are already half way through October! Where has the month gone?! {sigh}

The last couple of weekends have been wonderful. Not only wonderful, but perfect. Last weekend my dear sister and nephew flew out to visit us for a long weekend. Those few days were so very special. Every minute, every hour. I discovered a new joy in life while they were here and that is making my sweet nephew smile. Making silly faces and crazy noises became the theme of the weekend for one purpose. A smile. My heart would flutter every time he did. Sweet, sweet moments.

I don't know about you, but I am enjoying everything pumpkin this season. Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin beer, pumpkin frozen yogurt, pumpkin pretzels (thank you mom!)....and pumpkin macaroons were in my cart at Trader Joes the other day, but didn't make it home. Next time. Needless to say, I have been on pumpkin overload this season. So you can imagine how happy I was when we made a stop at our favorite coffee shop, Cafe Virtuoso, and had the best iced pumpkin spiced latte. It was like pumpkin dessert mixed with that pick-me-up that only their espresso can give me. I highly recommend for my dear San Diego friends to stop by to try one for yourself. You won't regret it.

The rest of the weekend was wonderful. Here is a peak at what happened this weekend...

notecards from Sugar Paper LA. looking forward to sending notes to dear friends.

saturday morning walk in balboa park. gorgeous fall colors.

enjoying a beautiful sunday afternoon.

my first autumn maple beer with hubby and pup.

pumpkin frozen yogurt. white chocolate chips. with a side of gummy bears.

homemade kale chips.

One last note...hubby and I had an interesting chat last weekend. It all started with me announcing that I think we should plan a trip to France. It has long been on my list of places to visit and I honestly feel like everyone has been there...except me. Hubby is always on his toes and ready with a quick fire answer to my suggestions. The answer to this one? 10 year anniversary dear...or...when you learn French enough to hold a converstation. I have noticed the hubs has been especially fond of deal making lately...not to my advantage...or is it? Either way, I agreed to take the challenge and look what arrived yesterday!!

Souhaitez moi bonne chance!

  1. Okay, so you and me both! France is the place I want to go most. Did you like this book? I am bad to get a book on Amazon and totally flake on it...

    ps: if you are up for travel buddies for France, let me know, I think I could find you a fun couple! :)
