bbq shrimp.

Last night we had a little taste from the south for dinner. My dear mother-in-law shared a delicious BBQ shrimp recipe with me to make sure we didn't feel far from home this summer. I am always a little nervous when preparing a new meal, but with all these great ingredients I knew it would be hard to not make it tasty. Plus the "I already like it and I don't even know what your making" from the hubs as he walked in made me feel even more confident that this would be a good one. Easy and tasty...a great weeknight meal!

What you need:
3 Tbsp butter
1 large onion, chopped finely
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp paprika
2 Tbs cracked black pepper
1 tsp. cayenne (I used a little less and it was plenty spicy)
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp steak sauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice
3 lb large shrimp (I used 1 lb peeled, frozen since it was only for 2 of us)

Melt the butter in a cast-iron skillet, and saute onion and celery until tender
Add Italian dressing, garlic, paprika, black pepper, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, and lemon juice; stir well until it begins to boil.
Add shrimp and simmer 15 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink.

I served the shrimp over brown rice with a side salad and garlic bread for dipping.
Bon app├ętit!
