Will you marry me?

Friday, September 3rd, seemed like a typical Friday…up early for work, home for lunch, countdown to 5 p.m. I had been looking forward to Big Fat Steak Night at the Yacht Club all day. Little did I know what was going on behind the scenes...
A little history…
1.      There was an empty picture frame in the original plastic wrap sitting on the shelf in the hallway.
2.      We had just been to a wedding the weekend before and a black and white picture of us dancing was taken. I loved it.
Before heading out to dinner we decided to enjoy cocktails on the front porch. After about one sip of wine, B.J. happily informs me that he has a gift for me. You must know that the last two gifts B.J. gave me were tennis balls and stand up paddle boards he had borrowed from a friend. So when I heard, “gift” all I could think about was what sport we would be trying next. This gift was different – it was the black and white picture that I loved so much in a beautiful frame. I was overwhelmed with excitement and didn’t think anything of it when he told me the one condition was this frame has to replace the empty frame in the hallway. I happily skipped inside to put the picture in its new home only to find an open ring box behind the empty frame. Thinking I just saw something I wasn’t supposed to, I put the frame back down, thought for a moment, lifted it back up and realized the ring box was empty. A million thoughts were going through my mind trying to figure out what was going on. The only person with the answer was on his knee behind me in the living room waiting to ask, “Meghan Ardis Harvey will you marry me?”
